Wesley School was founded in 1971 to provide quality Christian education for English speaking children of expatriates in Indonesia. We are fully accredited with two US organizations that accredit schools: The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Music teacher

General Requirements:

  •  Must be of Christian faith
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
  • Strong English communication skills (spoken and written)
  • Musical Skills:

    • Proficient in playing at least one primary instrument (piano, guitar, violin, etc.)
    • Ability to teach basic to intermediate music theory and ear training
    • Experience leading group music classes, ensembles, or choirs
    • Capable of preparing students for performances, recitals, or school events

    Classroom and Teaching Competencies:

    • Able to develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons
    • Strong classroom management skills
    •  Creative, patient, and encouraging teaching style
    • Able to integrate technology and multimedia into music instruction

Lower Elementary Teacher (Grade 1-3)

Required Skills:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.

  • Teaching Experience: Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in early childhood or elementary education.

  • Classroom Management: Strong classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment.

  • Curriculum Development: Ability to design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with young students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Creativity and Innovation: Creative approach to teaching and the ability to engage young learners through interactive and hands-on activities.

  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to enhance learning.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding and respect for diverse cultures and backgrounds, especially in an international school setting.

  • Student Assessment: Ability to assess and track student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.

Upper elementary teacher

General Requirements

  • Must be of Christian faith
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience in teaching grade 4-6, preferably in an international setting
  • Preferred Requirements

    • Curriculum Development: Ability to design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with young students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Creativity and Innovation: Creative approach to teaching and the ability to engage young learners through interactive and hands-on activities.
    • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to enhance learning.
    • Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding and respect for diverse cultures and backgrounds, especially in an international school setting.
    • Student Assessment: Ability to assess and track student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.

Middle School Math Teacher

Required Skills:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.

  • Teaching Certification: Valid teaching certification in Math education for middle school level.

  • Teaching Experience: Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in middle school math.

  • Subject Expertise: Strong knowledge of middle school math concepts, including algebra, geometry, and statistics.

  • Classroom Management: Ability to manage a diverse classroom and maintain an engaging learning environment.

  • Instructional Skills: Proficient in delivering clear and effective math instruction, adapting to various learning styles.

  • Technology Proficiency: Skilled in integrating technology into the math curriculum to enhance learning.

  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and fellow teachers.

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Competence in designing assessments, analyzing results, and providing constructive feedback.

Lower elementary teacher

General Requirements

  • Must be of Christian faith
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience in teaching early childhood or grade 1-3, preferably in an international setting)

General Requirements

  • Must be of Christian faith
  • Bachelor’s degree in science field (esp. Physics or Chemistry)
  • Experience in teaching high school science, preferably in AP courses.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Preferred Requirements

    • Ability to design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
    • Strong classroom management skills
    • Experience conducting science experiments and using laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
    • Proficient in using educational technology and tools to enhance learning.
    • Ability to assess and track student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
    • Understanding and respect for diverse cultures and backgrounds, especially in an international school setting.
