Wesley Newsletter for March, 2013
Dear Parents and Students,
We’re into March already and the third quarter is finishing this week! It seems the year is flying past as we start considering the end of the school year and prepare ourselves to farewell our graduating class and families who’ll be moving on.
There have been two recent events to your attention. Our basketball teams were exceptional in their sportsmanship and commitment. Our Boys placed 5th in the tournament and demonstrated a fighting spirit in a huge comeback in the final quarter only to be beaten by time in their final game of the tournament again Bandung Alliance I.S. Our Girls were beaten in the second period of extra time to take second place. This was heartbreaking for the girls and their fans, but we rejoice in their determination and committed play. Congratulations Stars! We are proud of you!
Also the Senior class held a very successful rummage sale on Saturday, March 2. Thank you to everyone who donated goods to the sale and to the parents, teachers and students who worked so hard to put on this event. We pray the Senior trip will provide our students with great opportunities to build some lifelong memories as a class.

Developing a Community of Grace: Wisdom
Wisdom is the “ability to judge correctly and to follow the best course of action, based on knowledge and understanding” (Herbert Lockyer) consistent with reverence to God, our Creator, and respect for all persons, everywhere.
Grace with Wisdom, and when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. When God extends Grace to His creation, He always does it with much Wisdom. Proverbs 24:3 states, “By wisdom a house {or community] is built and through understanding it is established.” Proverbs 2, a whole chapter extolling the virtue of wisdom, encourages us, “indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, 4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, 5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, 8 for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. 9 Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path.10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. 11 Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. 12 Wisdom will save you
Do you see the empowering grace that flows and helps build our community when we pursue wisdom from its true source, God?
All of the previous attributes of Grace (Unselfishness, Giving, Acceptance, Forgiveness, Cost), require Wisdom in order to be carried out. Let’s seek our Heavenly Father and His grace and wisdom to continue building Wesley as a community of grace.…. Selah

Seminar for Transitioning Students and their Families
- Friday, 5 April and Saturday, 6 April, Transitioning Seminar for families who are leaving Indonesia.
In recognition for the large number of families who’ll be leaving Indonesia at the end of this school year, WIS will hold a seminar dealing with various aspects of transitioning into ‘home’ cultures and leaving school. This period of time is often dislocating for students and parents alike and often creates a mixture of grief, fear, anticipation and excitement. However for some the whole experience can be isolating and overwhelming. This seminar will help parents, students and friends discuss and prepare how to farewell the Wesley environment and transition into the next phase of God’s plan for your life
