Philosophy Statement
God is a relational God and has chosen to reveal himself largely through the revelation of Scripture. Students will study scripture and become more familiar with their God to bring them into a closer relationship with Him. As they learn more from and about Scripture they will become equipped to “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” 1 Peter 3:15. As they struggle for the answers they will become more “sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” Hebrews 11:1.

Course Objective
Students will be encouraged to study the Bible for themselves, learn how to make astute observations, careful interpretation and conscientious application to their lives (ESLR: RUC, ET, NLL). Special attention is placed on understanding the Bible in its original time and culture with application for student’s lives now (ESLR: RUC, SCW, NLL, ET). Students will have the opportunity to teach some classes and lead discussions, with material they have researched and prepared. (ESLR: RUC, DC, ET, NLL).With the objective to be more sure of what they hope for, students will be being prepared and ready to give answers to those who don’t know Jesus (ESLR: RUC, DC, SCW). Students will also have opportunity to master the book of 2 Peter for themselves (ESLR: RUC, ET, NLL).
