Wesley is unique among many of international schools in that it technically has two soccer seasons– futsal (indoor soccer) and 6-on-6 outdoor soccer. Games are played with local schools around town. Being the home of Persema and Arema professional teams, as well as MFC, Malang has an abundance of great teams to train with and spar against. Click on the titles below for more information.
With a smaller indoor playing field and goals, it is fast-paced and footwork-oriented, providing a perfect transition into the season from the lazy and sedentary days of summer.
For the new soccer player, it is also a great way to develop and hone basic skills with far more accuracy and speed.
For experienced players, it is a good way to work on faster footwork, speed in executing passes and plays, as well as accuracy in shooting.
The futsal season officially ends with the annual Wesley Cup, though other tournament opportunities may still crop up throughout the off season.

MFC stands for Malang Football Club. It is an academy that brings together talented players from all around Malang and Indonesia and provides them with a place to develop their talents in soccer (and often a better life). Many MFC members have gone on to be professional players in Indonesian leagues. Some from Wesley have received athletic scholarships to play at American universities.
